How to take effective notes?

So let us begin with our journey!!🌈✨

Being a student, I know that having to deal with numerous textbooks and bundles of information from different sources can be hectic and confusing. These conditions are prone to do more harm than good for our exams and during the finals revision week, we just end up rewriting all the stuff over again. Now, how hectic is 🙄🙄?!!

So here are some of my tips and some tips I have come across on the internet that I regularly use while making my own notes.

1) Have a fixed notebook or section for a certain subject:

This one might sound obvious but I have found many of my classmates doing this mistake and would like to prevent you from doing the same. Try to make a particular notebook for each of your subject ( or if you use a binder, make a specific section for each subject). Make sure that you write all notes in that particular notebook or section Only 📓 📔. Otherwise we can imagine you randomly scrambling for tits and bits of information and ending up getting less marks. Nobody wants that, right?

2) Colour-code your notes:

In India, especially in schools, we are not allowed to any other colour except blue and black. However as notes are usually made in the home notebooks and not the school ones ( where the only thing I right is homework), so you can look forward to colour code your notes there ✨. Choose a particular colour for each of your subjects and use it to highlight the keywords while I write my notes. I usually prefer to use one colour per subject, but you can divide it down to one colour per chapter or unit if you want 🌝. Get a sneak peek of my notes here:

3) Use Diagrams and Flowcharts:

Diagrams and flowcharts do two very important things: 1st, it makes the information visual and allows a lot of info to be accommodated in a compact space and 2nd, it beautifies your notes and make it look like a piece of art. So why not use the magic wand ( or magic pen ;) ) to make some magic in your notes 🎇!!

4) Make your notes after reading your material:

Making your notes while reading may act as a distraction to your learning rhythm. So it is better to first read or listen to the material 📝 and make the notes afterwards. For lecture notes, you can gather the information during the class in your rough notebook. Come home and read the information once and then make your own notes.

5) Try to use your own language:

When making self notes from your textbook or lecture notes 📚, try to use some of your own words instead of the professors ( some not all). This will help you to memorise and understand the material as you write it.

So that's all I wanted to put on your plate regarding how to take effective notes. If you liked the post please comment down below and don't forget to subscribe to my website for an update whenever I make a post.

I will see you all again in a bit. Till then, Take Care.
